DALLAS – The names of six of the eight people who died in the tornado Saturday night have been released by the Dallas County medical examiner’s office.

Each died while driving or riding in cars when the tornado blew across I-30 and the George Bush Turnpike.

They were identified as:

  • Cecil Lowrie, 77
  • Petra Ruiz Porras, 27, of Mesquite
  • Sharva Sanders, 42
  • Kimberly Tippett, 30, of Plano
  • Tippett’s son, Camryn Craine, 1, of Plano
  • Lashondra Whitaker, 32

Walker had been working for a short time as a Collin Co. Sheriff’s Office dispatch officer.

Lowrie and his wife had been celebrating their 53rd anniversary of when they had met each other. His wife remains in critical condition in a hospital.

Ruiz was driving home and on her cell phone discussing dinner plans with her husband when she was killed, according to a Dallas Morning News article.

Tippett died with her infant son, Camryn, according to a GoFundMe page that friends have set up to raise money for burial costs.

“Kimberly and Cameron tragically lost their lives in the North Texas tornadoes Saturday,” the page reads. “The family needs assistance with burial and would appreciate all acts of kindness.”

No other info is available at this time.
