HEATH – Country music recording artist Deryl Dodd and the Homesick Cowboys will perform at a free fundraising concert and family fun event to benefit the Rockwall County police, fire and first responders’ emergency fund Oct. 7, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, in the park behind Heath City Hall.
The goal is to raise $30,000 for any “in need” police, fire or first responder in Rockwall County, should the need arise in the future, according to event organizer Steven Nabors, president of SL Nabors Roofing, which is presenting the event. The donations will be given to the non-profit Heath Police & Fire Association (HPFA) emergency fund for distribution.
Donations can be made online now at: http://tilt.tc/YqzM or at the event.
“We pray that these funds never have to be used,” said Nabors.
The event will feature a variety of other activities, as well, including free catered Tex-Mex food from Primos Tex-Mex Grille, games, a dunking booth, popcorn machine and vendor booths.
This is a non-alcohol event – none will be served or allowed. Bring your own chairs or blankets to enjoy the concert.
Additional sponsors are needed to keep the event free. Platinum sponsors, thus far, include SL Nabors Roofing, Rockwall Ford, Milestone Electric, Baker Brothers Plumbing and Lloyd D. Nabors Demolition.
