ROCKWALL – Former Springer Elementary School Principal, Dr. Brad Helmer, has been selected as the new Headmaster at Heritage Christian Academy by the Board of Trustees.
Dr. Helmer is a Rockwall native who also held assistant principal positions at Utley Middle School and Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary School. He holds a Doctorate of Education from Texas A&M Commerce and is certified as a superintendent, principal and life science teacher. He also has a background in youth ministry and is an active member of Lake Pointe Church.
Dr. Helmer succeeds Dr. Ron Taylor, who has retired after serving as HCA’s Headmaster for the past nine years.
Dr. Helmer says he is excited for the new opportunity and recognizes the foundation that has been laid before him, from HCA’s earliest years, to the most recent growth and development.
“Dr. Taylor and the outstanding staff have positioned HCA as the premier Christian education institution in the area,” he said. “I am humbled and excited by the opportunity I have to serve alongside such an amazing group of people as we continue to honor HCA’s tradition of excellence and embrace the unlimited potential of the future.”
“God promises to be faithful to us as we keep him at the center of all we do and all we are; as such, I fully expect to see God do abundantly above all we could ask or think at HCA,” he added.
Heritage Christian Academy is a fully-accredited, multi-denominational Christian school that offers grades K3 through 12. Now in its twentieth school year, HCA boasts its largest enrollment of over 375 students and the largest senior class ever to graduate. The growth has also granted the school the ability to continue building high-quality academic, athletics, fine arts and missions programs.
