I recently had an unexpected encounter with Rockwall Police. It happened at a local drive-through last Friday morning. As I approached the window to pay, the cashier handed me my order and said with a smile, “The officer in front of you paid for your order.” I looked up just in time to see the tail of a squad car round the corner out of sight. I never saw the driver or the number of the squad car, as I’m sure the officer intended. This random act of kindness has been on my mind ever since. I feel indebted, not for the meal, but for the essential service performed by these men and women whom have pledged to serve and protect us. Thank you to all of our local law enforcement who put their lives on the line daily, so that we may live in peace.
