Want to serve on Heath City Council? Justin Holland to resign


HEATH – City of Heath Council member Justin Holland has announced his intent to resign from the Heath City Council, now that he has secured the Republican nomination for Texas House District #33. The general election is Nov. 8, 2016.

Heath residents interested in being considered for Holland’s seat should contact Mayor Brian Berry or any Council member prior to the June 14 meeting.

During the June 14 executive meeting the Council will discuss the appointment of a replacement to fill the vacancy until the next general election in May, 2017.

Holland has served for five years on the City Council, including serving as Mayor Pro Tem from 2013 to 2015. He also served on the Special Events Board from 2010 to 2011, prior to being elected to Council.
