ROYSE CITY – An unidentified woman was robbed and abducted at gunpoint into a car at the Royse City Walmart parking lot last night about 10:45 pm.
According to a press release from Royse City Police Chief Jeff Stapleton, the victim is safe after she was able to escape from the two suspects by exiting through a side door on the other side of the vehicle and fleeing to a Good Samaritan in the parking lot.
The suspects then fled the area in their vehicle and in one belonging to the victim. They are now wanted for Aggravated Robbery.
The victim told investigating officers on the scene that she parked, entered Walmart, where she purchased items, and then exited the store – after being inside for approximately twenty minutes.
As the victim approached her vehicle, she was confronted by a black male in his 20s and black female possibly in her 30s, who exited a gray sport utility vehicle.
The suspects approached the victim and asked her for money to purchase groceries. After the victim said she didn’t have any cash on her, both suspects then grabbed the victim and forced her inside the Gray SUV, displaying a handgun.
The victim told police she struggled with the suspects and was able to exit the vehicle on the opposite side through a door.
At the time of this incident, dispatch also notified officers of a similar incident in a nearby neighborhood. Officers searched the area for the victim and possible suspects; however, none were located.
